Ribery receives a three-match ban for pushing a linesman

Frenchman and Fiorentina’s player, Frank Ribery, was sanctioned this Monday by the Italian Serie A's disciplinary tribunal with a three-match suspension for pushing a linesman on Sunday in the duel his team lost against Lazio.
“A sanction for three matches and fine 20,000 euros to Frank Ribery for, at the end of the game while still on the pitch, approaching the linesman with threatening behavior and acting in a seriously disrespectful manner against an assistant referee, who received in addition to insults, a push with one arm in his chest”, as can be read in the official note of the Serie A.

Ribery, a 36-year-old veteran incorporated by Fiorentina after his contract with Bayern Munich expired, angrily protested against the arbitration of the match that his team lost 2-1 against Lazio, with a decisive goal from Ciro Immobile in the 89th minute.

He will miss the games against Sassuolo, Parma and Cagliari, and will return to the competition next November 24 to visit the Hellas Verona.
