Will Drummund change the Pistons for the Hawks

Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond is reportedly on the trade market.

The Pistons have spoken with several teams, including the Atlanta Hawks, about a deal for the 26-year-old big man.

"The Hawks have discussed sending a package that includes a 2020 first-round pick via the Brooklyn Nets and the salary-cap relief of expiring contracts for Detroit. A potential deal would include other assets."

Whether it's to Atlanta or another franchise, there's a growing belief that Drummond will be traded before the Feb. 6 deadline.

Drummond can test free agency this summer if he declines his $28.75 million player option for the 2020-21 season. He told reporters in August that he planned to become a free agent.

“I’m a free agent next summer," he said. "It should be fun. I’m excited."

Drummond is averaging a career-high 17.6 points and a league-best 15.8 rebounds in 33 games this season, his eighth in the NBA. The former ninth overall pick has spent his entire career with the Pistons, earning two All-Star appearances and three rebounding titles.
