Why so racist?

Why so racist?

Why so racist? A lot of soccer players have suffered of this problem, this happened with Benjamin Mendy.

Bernardo Silva is the responsible of this racist act, he made a bad joke about one of his partners.

Bernardo Silva will lose the match where Manchester City will receive Chelsea in the Premier League. Why? Because he was suspended a game after some racist acts. He published a twit where he compared his partner Benjamin Mendy with the picture of a monkey that appears in a famous brand of chocolates.
The Portuguese middle fielder admitted that he violated the rules of the league with this racism comment. Because of this he received a penalty fee of 50 thousand pounds, something like 54 thousand dollars. So, Silva will lose the match against Chelsea next November 23rd after the FIFA week.

The behavior commission of the English Federation accepted that Silva “didn’t have the intention of a racist or hurting twit”, they said that this was just a “joke between close friends”.
But the final verdict of the FIFA added: “His twit was not a joke between two friends. The twit was made in a huge social media where this soccer player has more than 600 thousand followers, and he is supposed a high profile and well respected professional.”
Silva wrote a letter to the English Federations saying sorry of any offense that the twit would have caused. The twit shows a photo of Mendy when he was a child and next to him there is a marketing character of a chocolate nuts brand from Spain. Mendy and the character are black.
Mendy, who is a close friend of Silvia since they met as soccer partners in the French team Monaco, made a support declaration for him and he said that he didn’t feel offended at all with the picture.

But this act hasn’t been the worst one in the soccer world…
Mario Balotelli is one of the principal racism objectives in the past few years. On February 2013, when he was playing in AC Milan, during a derby match against Inter the fans from Internazionale started to sing racist song referring to Mario, that has Ghana ascendancy.
Even though the Italian Federation gave some strong punishments to the “neroazzurri”, that exact same year, Balotelli said that the Argentinian Nicolas Spolli called him “shitty black”. After this, Mario thought about leaving the sport.
Then during 2014 when he was training with the Italian National Team, some random guy started to tell him that he shouldn’t play for the Italian team as he is a black man and he doesn’t look European.

More players have suffered of this…
But Benjamin and Mario are not the only players that have suffered of racist comments, also players like Lukaku, Marc Zoro, and Boateng have received racist comments.

We must remember that soccer is an incredible sport that unites the world and the world is ONE!
